Technologies for Social Development Observatory

Over time we found a lot of projects that apply technological solutions to social problems. Even if they are ingenious and given interesting solutions to specific problems it was and it is very difficult to find concrete data of their advances and point of contact.

So we decided to create the First Technologies for Social Development Observatory, an open and accessible database that gathers all this information and enables the continuity of many projects that otherwise would be not able to continue under the direction of its promoters. We hope that all the Observatory information becomes a source of motivation for new developments and that it facilitates dissemination and communication of information. #Research

Send us your project (We are still working in the database, more information available soon!)

Biblio-Tech: First Argentine library focused on technology studies

Biblio-Tech aims to be the largest technology library focused on technology in Argentina, with national and international authors. We want to think critically about technology and support national research. We have started with text collected over the past 10 years , including politics, law, culture and technology.

We hope to be a point of reference for any researcher, not only for the consultation of particular texts but also for the recommendation of works, topics and theoretical frameworks. We are currently updating the initial catalog. #Research

Research. Critical Infrastructures Information (CII): Global panorama.

After submitting a proposal and competing with researchers from around the world, the WEIBA Foundation won the project “1B: Identifying Internet-Accessible Critical Information Infrastructures” sponsored by the Global Commission on the Stability of Cyberspace (GCSC). The purpose of this project was to carry out an investigation into the global situation of critical information infrastructures (CII).

For this purpose, we carry out an exhaustive compilation of the international definitions, statistics and we present a state of comparative situation of said infrastructures, together with a detailed analysis of its different components. In the final document we present a series of graphs that allow us to visualize the global panorama of the critical infrastructures of the information and several categories of analysis.

We thank the members of the “Argentina CyberSecurity Hub” group for their collaboration in the research. #Research
